A typical Haitian village scene. Adults are selling their goods while children and playing and flying kites made by the children or their parents.
These hand carved frames are made from hard oak trees grown in Haiti. They are made by frame
makers, not the artist. Some frames take weeks to make, while others are carved while the painter is
painting and are finished when the painting is done. This is done because the corners must fit. None of the paintings are the exact size. These frames are valued at $200 or more.
